Frequently asked questions.
A straightforward introduction to the Founding Beta, PMA's core capabilities, security model and how the platform is intended to fit into real husbandry.
What is Project Mad Adder?+
Project Mad Adder (PMA) is a mobile-first animal husbandry platform built to connect daily care, health history, breeding, genetics, species intelligence, secure QR workflows, team operations and collection-wide intelligence in one system.
Who is PMA designed for?+
PMA is designed for individual keepers, breeders and larger animal operations that want more structure than a basic record tracker. It is especially focused on reptiles, amphibians and keeper-relevant invertebrates.
Is the Founding Beta free?+
Yes. PMA Founding Beta is free during Beta. It is a real product beta, not a short free trial. Founding Beta members keep their data and receive Founding Member recognition plus special launch pricing when paid plans begin.
Will my records be deleted after Beta?+
No. The Founding Beta is intended for real ongoing husbandry use, and participating keepers keep their records as PMA moves toward general release.
Does PMA work on phones?+
Yes. PMA is designed mobile-first and can be installed as a Progressive Web App. Core husbandry workflows are designed for practical use at racks, enclosures and animal rooms rather than requiring a desktop computer.
Can PMA work when my connection is unreliable?+
PMA includes offline-ready workflows for supported tasks, with queued changes and synchronization after connectivity returns. The goal is to keep routine husbandry moving even where Wi-Fi or cellular coverage is poor.
What makes the animal QR codes different?+
The same physical Animal QR code can serve two purposes. Inside PMA, it can open the authorized internal animal workflow quickly. When scanned normally outside that authenticated workflow, it can open the animal's owner-controlled Public Animal Profile. PMA's in-app scanner is ownership-aware, so another PMA user cannot use it to open a private animal record they are not authorized to access.
Can I import records from another system?+
PMA is being built around data portability and migration. Supported migration workflows include spreadsheet-based imports and dedicated pathways for preserving existing animal and husbandry history rather than forcing keepers to start over.
Does PMA include breeding and genetics tools?+
Yes. PMA combines breeding records with genotype-based genetics, Morph IQ, Target Morph Wizard and Project Navigator so keepers can move from individual pairings to multi-generation breeding strategy.
Does PMA use AI?+
PMA uses intelligence systems to help organize evidence, surface patterns and prioritize attention, but it is not designed to invent animal records or pretend care was completed. Health-oriented intelligence is non-diagnostic and keeps the keeper in control of decisions.
Can more than one person work in the same collection?+
Yes. PMA supports organization-based workspaces, roles, assignments and operational workflows so responsibility can remain visible across teams while keeping organizations isolated from one another.
How do I join the Founding Beta?+
Use the Apply for Founding Beta button at the top of the site. PMA is expanding in controlled waves so the team can learn from real long-term husbandry use while keeping the experience stable for participants.
